Service Description
Combine a snowmobile with a dirt bike and what you get is a snow bike! Lighter and more manoeuvrable than a snowmobile, snow bikes are able to sidehill, climb and navigate tight terrain unlike anything snow has ever seen. So put the skis away for a day, and come rip up with us and your crew! Our overnight tour is not for the faint-hearted. One epic day riding and 1 night amongst the stars staying in our mountain accommodation at 1565m above, food, drinks and most ammenities included. *Please note - Travel times and distances may vary depending on location of pick up and where we will be riding due to the current weather conditions. Itinerary: 7:30-8:00am: Pick up from your New World Frankton (near Queenstown) 9:30-10:00am: Arrive at location. Begin safety briefing, Induction and avalanche safety talk. 10:00am: Lets ride! 11:30am: Snack/Drinks break, gear check and refuel. 1:00pm: Lunch break, Gear check, and refuel. 4:00pm:Head to the back country hut (Solar power, limited cell reception) get warm and settle in for the night. DAY TWO: 07:30 am Breakfast, and clean up the hut. Get ready to ride out. 08.30 - 09.00 am: Ride back to the start area and get changed ready for trip back to town. What you will need to bring for overnight: Warm clothes Snacks/energy bars What we will provide: - Food for Lunch, Dinner, Breakfast, - Snacks - A sleeping Bag and pillow - Soft Drink / Water - Cooking equipment What we wear: - Snowboard boots / MX boots with thermal waterproof socks - Moto Helmet (must be valid to NZ standards) - Ski Google’s - Thermal underwear - Winter ski type Gloves - Ski pants and jacket or warm waterproof outerwear Optional (highly recommended) items: Beanie / Balaclava -Spare gloves -Spare goggles -Spare warm layer If there is any equipment you need to hire please let us know the sizes required when you book or at least 14 days before your riding day. We supply a backpack with avalanche equipment (we avoid avalanche terrain although it is safe practice to be prepared for the unlikely in the backcountry). Please bring along Water and High Energy Food to place in your backpack for your tour.
